Economic vitality

Economic vitality is about giving residents and nearby towns reasons to come here, spend here, and stay here. The proposed recreation center is a major opportunity. Done well, it can serve as a community hub that keeps families from going elsewhere for swimming, fitness, and activities, while also bringing visitors who then buy gas, groceries, meals, and supplies in Milton.

That requires early input from Milton residents and consideration of surrounding communities, with a focus on real accessibility and schedules. Through partnerships, communication, and thoughtful planning which retains character and leverages local resources we can increase and retain economic traffic to town.

My specific goals as we navigate this project are to ensure community input, problem solve some existing gaps such as childcare shortages, winter recreation for families, and community activities for aging residents. Additionally, we have some gaps in exercise and recreational activities for people mobility challenges.

By identifying and filling gaps, we can draw and keep more dollar in town - all while expanding resources for families.
