About Christine Vaughn for Milton VT
I am running because I believe the work of the Select Board demands the same skills I use every day in education and small business: navigating regulations, meeting legal deadlines, managing projects, working within real budgets, and collaborating with multiple parties to deliver results. In special education, successful outcomes require identifying specific needs, removing obstacles, coordinating services, documenting decisions, and following through. In small business, success requires listening closely, managing costs, planning logistics, delivering on commitments, and earning trust through transparency. Those are also the fundamentals of good town governance.
I believe Milton needs to strengthen trust in local government by ensuring every resident feels heard and by using clear criteria and consistent process that build public confidence. When decisions feel unclear or participation feels limited, people disengage and the town loses good ideas and good volunteers. Milton works best when we invite broad participation and show our work.
